My story

"If your dreams do not scare you, they're not big enough."

-Sidney Poitier

My story

I can't remember a time when I didn't want to be a children's book writer. I have worked in the non-profit sector for all of my adult life in incredibly meaningful roles which have fulfilled me in so many ways and only added to my capacity to write and see myself in others. I enjoy reading and writing books that have social-emotional learning aspects mixed with a small sprinkling or sometimes a giant cannonball splash of humor. My favorite books are the ones I want to read again just as soon as I finish the last page. My wish is that you have that experience when you come to the last page of my books.

Book Pitches

Anxious Ness

Nessie is a very anxious Loch Ness monster. She cuddles with eels, plays with snakes, and gives warm hugs to frogs...but people, eeeeeeek. In this playful picture book that plays on the irony of a Loch Ness monster that is scared of people, Nessie learns to overcome her fears and anxieties about the world above the waterline. Stay tuned for series potentials like Happy Ness and Sad Ness.

I am a proud member of 12 x 12, SCBWI and the Writer's Loft.

Super Names

Names can define us in positive and sometimes challenging ways, especially when we're young. Leave it to a kid to find the one word that rhymes with...Betty, and all of a sudden everyone is calling you Sweaty Betty on the playground for all of elementary school. Well these 3 superheroes take back their names and in doing so turn into superheroes, thanks to Small Paul's mom, aka Jolly Polly :)

Eddy
Divorce is hard. Period. But what if your favorite stuffy since you were a baby came to life to help you through it? Eddy is a funny, kind, insightful and quite large teddy bear that helps Raul get through a really tough time. And as Raul builds his own skills and gets stronger, Eddy gets smaller. Caregivers, teachers and counselors can use the guided questions in the back matter of the book as well as the journaling techniques to work with children through this difficult time in one's life that many families are familiar with but don't quite know how to handle.

The Golden Gals

Meet the Golden Gals! We all know that amazing and timeless show that this book is inspired by but wait until you read the nuggets of laughter and learning brought to you by these ladies in their coop. Bea is the MC and zen hen who helps us learn important life lessons like being patient, kind, a team-player, a listener, and to just be.
